The head of Bloomberg QuickTake, a streaming service for global business news targeting younger viewers and slated to debut later this year, will join TVNewsCheck’s second annual OTT News Summit in a keynote interview.

Jean Ellen Cowgill, GM of streaming news channel Bloomberg QuickTake and global head of digital strategy and business development for Bloomberg Media, will discuss the channel’s approach to OTT programming, discovery and monetization in an interview with TVNewsCheck Editor Michael Depp at 1 p.m. ET on Sept. 22.

Bloomberg QuickTake is looking to build an innovative storytelling model for the next generation of viewers and business leaders, capitalizing on a major shift of younger audiences to cord-cutting viewing habits.

“QuickTake is a fascinating new entry into the OTT news space, and Jean Ellen’s ambitions to reinvent global business news for a new generation merit a close look for any news organization that has ventured into streaming,” Depp said. “Her experience in branding, content and UX will make for an expansive discussion of what news media need to be doing to successfully compete in OTT.”

TVNewsCheck’s virtualized edition of its second annual OTT News Summit will run from Sept. 22 to 25, engaging the pandemic’s impact on the streaming value chain and how news organizations can take advantage of new opportunities in content, technology and monetization.

Attendees will participate in the live, daily, two-and-a-half-hour streamed sessions on Zoom Webinar, where they can pose questions to speakers, participate in live audience polling and wrap up the day with half-hour, open-mic roundtables on key issues. Before, during and after the conference, attendees may also network, submit suggested questions for speakers, chat about issues, browse virtual exhibits and set appointments with sponsors by downloading the TVNewsCheck Events app from the Apple or Android stores.
