Virtual OTT News Summit Coming In September

By TVNewsCheck on July 29, 2020

TVNewsCheck will present four days of keynote interviews, panel discussions and roundtables confronting pivotal changes in the OTT marketplace for news organizations. Programming will tackle streaming news content, workflow and ad technology challenges and monetization.

TVNewsCheck will mount a virtualized edition of its second annual OTT News Summit on Sept. 22-25, examining the pandemic’s impact on the streaming value chain and how news organizations can take advantage of new opportunities in content, technology and monetization.

Attendees will participate in the live, daily, two-and-a-half-hour streamed sessions on Zoom Webinar, where they can chat virtually with other attendees and wrap up the day with half-hour, open-mic roundtables on key issues. Attendees may also network, submit questions for speakers, browse virtual exhibits and set appointments with sponsors in advance of the live event by downloading the TVNewsCheck Events app from the Apple or Android stores. App users also have the option of watching the programming’s live stream on the app.

This year’s discussions will engage head on the profound role that the pandemic has had in reshaping the OTT landscape, adding more viewers to an already proliferating space and more opportunities for news organizations that have planted their flags there.

Panels will include Programming OTT News in a Pandemic; Virtualizing the Election: OTT’s Programming Opportunities; More Viewers, More Paths To Discovery; Ad Tech Pandemic Report Card; Creating Frictionless OTT Workflows; and Monetizing OTT: New Opportunities in a Changed World. Keynote interviews will tackle the latest strategies in OTT programming and monetization.

“The OTT News Summit is a singular opportunity for news organizations to reflect on their fast-evolving streaming strategies,” said TVNewsCheck Editor Michael Depp. “Our speakers comprise the streaming executives for all of the major news organizations with an OTT presence, and their pioneering insights are continuing the frame news’ OTT trajectory in a year of unprecedented change.”

This year’s panelists include executives from CNN, Fox Owned Television Stations, NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations, Sinclair Broadcasting Group, E.W. Scripps, Newsy and CBC, among others.
